enchantments - leavenworth, wa

in may 2018, I went on my first backpacking trip in the enchantments. although the trip got off to a rough start with rain on the first night forcing us to make an emergency run to safeway for a tarp, we managed to survive the four days and three nights thanks to the trekking poles we decided to rent last minute, a bottle of gochujang sauce that we added to everything and have brought on all camping trips ever since, spicy korean ramen, and some strong whiskey that warmed our bones and strengthened our spirits when we were drenched. despite the weather trying to rain on our parade, it was quite enchanting and I highly recommend applying for the later months when it’s warm enough to take a dip in the beautiful alpine lakes.
